About the Program

Happiness and Meaning are both cherished pursuits and the essential elements of well-being. They may also be part of our inherent existential rights, but the path is not always clear. Our search for meaning reflects a nearly universal desire to understand the nature of our existence and to feel it as significant and purposeful. With good fortune, we find the doorway leading to a deeper sense of self.

Happiness and Meaning correlate strongly. The more we find one, the more we experience the other. We want answers to the big questions: Who am I? Why am I here? What is truly important to me? What am I supposed to do with my life? Modern life offers us answers, many of which produce only illusory happiness and an absence of meaning.

The challenge is to find a path that balances Happiness and Meaning coherently and creates a fusion of Joy and Hope. It is a project that requires us to heal our illusions, accept our finiteness, our limitations, and release expectations, while simultaneously recognizing our infinity! One might say, to reveal to ourselves our True Nature and its manifestation in love and awareness.

In this series, you are invited to explore different approaches related to meaning, in order that you find something useful for your own personal quest. The kind of meaning that brings transcendent joy has to be found in your unique and particular way.

Goals of the Program:

  • To clarify Meaning, receive guidance and advance in your level of development, and reflects one’s existence has significance, purpose, and coherence;
  • To understand Meaning, the importance of “right view”, and how Meaning is being renovated throughout our lives, up to and even in the moment of our death;
  • To gain a fuller appreciation of Meaning, which is born in us, is an expression of our true Self;
  • To discover levels of understanding and participate in exercises which explore our inner experience and our life's activities, attempting to find the truly relevant, and the transcendent.

Program Components:

As always in Ontogony, we approach the issue using several models and traditions. Providing an ample spectrum for understanding and exploration, I selected four approaches with distinct and different flavours.

  • Western Psychology: The scientific study of human minds and behaviour, traditionally approaching from a strictly scientific point of view. As it is a science, psychology uses the scientific empirical method used in all areas of Western science.
  • 6 Paramitas (Buddhism): Known as the six transcendent perfections, and are an essential concept in the practice of Mahayana Buddhism. They are so fundamental in fact that the “Vehicle of the Perfections” is a synonym for Mahayana itself.
  • Tantra: Regards the changing, visible world as the creative dance or play of the Divine Mother and regarding enlightenment as the realization of the essential oneness of one's self and of the visible world with Shiva-Shakti.
  • Biblical Perspective: We see life as an opportunity to love others and to serve 'G-d' and view the meaning and purpose of life from a biblical perspective.

Teachings are further complemented by experiential online group practices to help ignite the beginning and/or strengthen your connection to Meaning. Whether you are new to the Ontogony Teachings, or you are an advanced practitioner of one of the paths, this series is designed to illuminate and further the course of your journey.
