Year 3, the final year, is the completion of the ongoing Body-Mind Therapy Training Program, offering an integration of the previous two years and opening the possibility for professional certification. This training process aims at what we call “Mage Therapy”, with its spontaneous connection in the Here and Now.

Part of what distinguishes Mage Therapy is its recognition that liberation is impossible as long as we are caught in the solid reality patterns of our karma. Our body type or “characterology” represents some of that karma; and one of the most difficult aspects of breaking the physical and energetic characterology is that we have learned to accept and identify so completely with it. There comes a time when it must be transcended. Carlos Castaneda called this characterological breakthrough “breaking human form”… a term suggesting that we are cosmic beings.

Deep healing is required for most of us to reclaim and integrate a vision that allows us to create the new reality: a reality no longer governed by neurosis and karma, but by love, freedom, grace and enjoyment. That is the work of Mage Therapy.

In this course, under the guidance of Dr. Carlos de Léon, each student practices as therapist while fellow students observe and provide feedback. By engaging in this way, the deepest aspects of the therapeutic process are explored experientially, technique is polished, and one’s understanding of the principles of Ontogonic Body-Mind Therapy, further clarified and refined.

THE VISION AND GOALS for the Ontogonic Therapist or “Mage-Therapist” include full acquisition of the following attitudes, skills and proficiencies:

Technical Skill: The therapist has transcended technique such that personal experience can become the main tool;

Empathy: The therapist has ability to observe what is happening with the patient in the here and now, as well as being able to predict process in an intuitive and clairvoyant manner;

Timing: The therapist is sufficiently in tune with the flux itself so that timing begins to follow the flux;

Creativity and Spontaneity: The therapist does not cease to be creative and spontaneous, and the therapy process unfolds naturally;

Handling of Transference and Counter-Transference: The therapist successfully avoids transference games in real time; and stays alert and vigilant regarding future possibilities;

Handling of Energy: The therapist is sensitive to the energy of the flux itself and recognizes all energetic phenomena within a therapy process as manifestations of the flux;

Trust in the Wisdom of the Flux: The therapist is fully surrendered to the flux;

Observation: The therapist has achieved simultaneous observation – self/other and how observation itself begins to affect the therapy process;

Motivation for being a Therapist: The therapist has evolved a personal vision based on helping to eradicate suffering in any of its forms and contributing to the liberation of others;

Therapeutic Ethics: The therapist is committed to the cultivation of the virtues and abilities outlined above and in the guidelines as basic to providing Ontogonic Mage-Therapy.

Guidelines for Ontogonic Therapists:

  • Follow the principles of Ontogonic Psychotherapy – Activate, Allow, Observe and Assimilate;
  • Create a state of awareness that allows the experience of ‘True Nature’ – for both the therapist and the patient;
  • Embrace the material from ‘True Nature’ so that instant assimilation occurs;
  • Maintain a perspective of Love, Freedom, Grace, and Pleasure as the Goals of therapy;
  • Offer consistent diagnosis, based always in the here and now;
  • Work directly and intuitive with the total flow of the moment. Do not get lost in the parts;
  • Hold an intention to attain the ultimate goal to “break characterology” and sustain the new freedom.
