DREAM THERAPY WITH THE COLLECTIVE UNCONSCIOUS TRANSFORMS YOUR LEVELS OF CONSCIOUSNESS… This process works with the totality of the psyche: the part derived from our personal and individual experience and that which is our common inheritance as humans. Important detail from both is held in the unconscious, outside of our awareness!

This series offers a body-centred approach to explore our totality, integrate universal archetypes, and to access the collective experience as a mirror to build the bridge to our True Self. Through ‘Psychodrama’ students engage in spontaneous dramatization, role playing, and dramatic self-presentation to investigate and gain insight into their lives.

The Collective Unconscious is psychologist Carl Jung’s term for the inborn aspect of the psyche. In animals we call it instinct, that which allows a newborn turtle to know which way the water is and to go straight for it. There from the beginning, like the ability of an infant to recognize a human smile, it reveals itself later in mythological motifs or primordial images.

“The whole of mythology could be taken as a sort of projection of the collective unconscious” ~ Joseph Campbell, The Portable Jung.

Whereas the personal unconscious consists for the most part of complexes, the content of the collective unconscious is made up essentially of archetypes: “elementary” or “primordial thoughts” or literally pre-existent forms, shared and, in that sense, universal. Often the images speak to us of the Mysterious and the Eternal.

“The collective unconscious contains the whole spiritual heritage of mankind’s evolution born anew in the brain structure of every individual.” ~ C.G. Jung

Key to the personal process is full recognition and acceptance of one’s total life experience: the gross, the subtle, the obvious and the hidden. Through the expansion of awareness and refinement of perception, by unblocking and releasing karmic imprints and by allowing into consciousness repressed memories, we come ever more fully into our potential and the revelation of our authentic Self.

This series of advanced dream therapy is for students who have attended Teachings in Dreaming, or, have been part of the Ontogonic Therapy Programs with Dr. Carlos de León here in Vancouver, or in other international teachings. This group therapy process will be limited to thirty participants.
